The Platinum Awards Latin American Film, los primeros galardones globales del audiovisual en espa ol y portugu s acaban de dar a conocer las 4 finalistas por cada categor a para su VI Edici n.
Juan Carlos Arciniegas ha sido el conductor del acto acompa ado de los int rpretes Angie Cepeda, Jaime Camil, Joaqu n Cosio, Karla Souza y Luis Gerardo M ndez, encargados de anunciar las 17 categor as que conforman los premios m s importantes del cine iberoamericano, en un acto celebrado en el Hotel Roosevelt de Los Angeles, retransmitido en streaming por Facebook Live.
The gala will be held on 12 de mayo en el Teatro Gran Tlachco del Parque Xcaret (Riviera Maya), culminando una semana en la que se programar n eventos de networking de la industria audiovisual y cultural iberoamericana.
Entre las candidaturas espa olas destacan, por su presencia en el mayor n mero de categor as, Champions and The kingdom, con cinco y tres nominaciones respectivamente. En el caso de Campeones, de Javier Fesser, tambi n nominado a Mejor Direcci n, y junto a La Noche de 12 a os, presentada por Uruguay con participaci n espa ola, siguen en la carrera hacia el PLATINO en la categor a de Mejor Pel cula Iberoamericana.
En los apartados que premian las interpretaciones en largometrajes de ficci n, siguen en esta ltima fase de selecci n Antonio de la Torre por El Reino, Javier Bardem y Pen lope Cruz por Todos lo Saben y Javier Guti rrez por Campeones.
Las producciones Memoirs of a man in pajamas and Alive one more day contin an su camino hacia el Platino a la Mejor Pel cula de Animaci n; al igual que Camar n. Flamenco y Revoluci n and The silence of other para el Platino a la Mejor Pel cula Documental.
Carmen and Lola, de Arantxa Echevarr a y Viaje al Cuarto de una Madre, de Celia Rico Clavellino optan tambi n al Platino a la Mejor pera Prima.
El apartado que premia a los largometrajes por su capacidad para llevar a la reflexi n sobre valores sociales y humanos, el Platino al Cine y la Educaci n en Valores, cuenta en sus candidaturas con las producciones Campeones, de Javier Fesser, Carmen y Lola, de Arantxa Echevarr a y La Noche de 12 a os, de Alvaro Brechner.
Arde Madrid y sus int rpretes Anna Castillo e Inma Cuesta, Javier Rey por Fari a y Najwa Nimri por Vis a Vis mantienen sus opciones para alzarse con los galardones que ensalzan las series o miniseries.
Arde Madrid, con un total de tres nominaciones, es la serie con mayor representaci n en esta fase final.
Entre el resto de producciones espa olas nominadas encontramos Yuli, a Mejor M sica (Alberto Iglesias) y The Man Who Killed Don Quixote (Benjam n Fern ndez), en la categor a de direcci n de arte.
El Reino, adem s, queda como finalista en las categor as de mejor direcci n de fotograf a, montaje y sonido con Alejandro de Pablo, Alberto del Campo y Roberto Fern ndez y Alfonso Raposo respectivamente.
Por sexto a o consecutivo y como muestra del auge de las filmograf as iberoamericanas, la cifra de producciones participantes ha marcado el r cord de 925. De stas, un total de 29 han sido seleccionadas como finalistas para estar entre las 4 candidatas a cada una de las 17 categor as de premios. Un jurado de prestigio internacional formado por 121 profesionales del sector audiovisual y una comunidad de m s de 1.000 cineastas decidir n los ganadores de la VI edici n de los Premios Platino.
Los Platino, en la Riviera Maya Una vez m s, la ceremonia tendr lugar en un emplazamiento imponente a la altura de unos galardones que son el mejor escaparate mundial para la cinematograf a iberoamericana. Desde el Grupo Xcaret, Luis Carlos Vel zquez, agradeci el reconocimiento al documental Volando a Casa , que relata la historia de la reintroducci n de la guacamaya roja a las selvas de M xico. Se pronunci porque el cine siga contando muchas historias en las que brillen la dignidad de las personas, la inclusi n, el cuidado del patrimonio natural y cultural, y se promueva la construcci n de un mundo mejor para todos.
Para la Riviera Maya, ser anfitriones de los Premios Platino representa una gran oportunidad para proyectarse como un destino vanguardista y cautivador a los ojos del mundo. El Consejo de Promoci n Tur stica de Quintana Roo se congratula al participar como patrocinador en la realizaci n de este importante evento, ya que es la primera vez que se repite una sede dentro de la historia de la gala. La Riviera maya es un destino de playas paradis acas, gran riqueza cultural y con una espectacular oferta de servicios del m s alto nivel para atender eventos de talla internacional .
