The shortlist for this year's RT Choice Music Prize Irish Song of the Year 2021, in association with IMRO & IRMA, was announced today on RT 2FM's Tracy Clifford Show.
The shortlist is as follows:

Dermot Kennedy Better Days
Elaine Mai - No Forever feat. MayKay
Inhaler It Won't Always Be Like This
Jack O' Rourke - Sea Swimming
Kynsy Mr Nice Guy
Picture This Things are Different
Shane Codd Always on My Mind feat. Charlotte Haining
Soda Blonde - Small Talk
Soul Queenish
To vote for the RT Choice Music Prize, Irish Song of the Year 2021, visit www.rte.ie/2fm.
Votes are limited to one per person per day. Only votes cast in the Republic of Ireland will be counted. Voting closes at midnight on Sunday 27th February.
The Irish Song of the Year 2021 will be announced by Tracy Clifford on a special show via RT Player/2FM simulcast on the day of the live event on 3rd March. Tracy will also host the live event that night.
The show in Vicar St will feature performances from seven of the album-shortlisted acts. Tickets on sale now via https://www.ticketmaster.ie/choice-music-prize-tickets/artist/1541435
A special RT Choice Music Prize highlights programme will be broadcast on RT 2 television the following week presented by Bl thnaid Treacy.
The 17th annual RT Choice Music Prize will once again celebrate the best in Irish recorded music. The Prize has become one of the music-industry highlights of the year since its inception in 2005. The Irish Album of the Year award is chosen from a shortlist of ten albums
by a panel of eleven Irish music media professionals and industry experts. The full list of judges is listed on http://www.choicemusicprize.ie
RAAP and Minding Creative Minds are also official project partners of the RTE Choice Music Prize as are Culture Ireland and First Music Contact (FMC).
Through its funding of FMC's Music From Ireland programme, Culture Ireland support of the RT Choice Music Prize will be directed towards participant artists, as well as assisting the online RT Choice Music Prize Conversations .
