Enjoy local and international Ponggal specials premiering on Astro
Astro customers can enjoy exciting range of local and international Ponggal premieres on TV, Astro GO and On Demand. All Malaysians can also look forward to more Ponggal specials on RAAGA radio.
Customers can enjoy premiering local Ponggal specials including:
Vibrant reality show, Village Ponggal which places local social media influencers in remote villages to accomplish Ponggal related tasks. Village Ponggal premieres on 11 January, 9pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202), Astro GO and On Demand.
Reality show, Saravedi Ponggal starring popular local hosts, Aanantha and Uthaya who will embark on a journey to experience the hardships of being farmers for a day, establish a sense of gratitude for the farmers, and celebrate them during Ponggal. Saravedi Ponggal premieres on 14 January, 9pm on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201), Astro GO and On Demand.
Thriller films, Senthozhan Sengkathirvaanan and Aivar premiering on 14 January, 10pm and 15 January, 9pm respectively on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201), Astro GO and On Demand.
Game shows:
Babas Enggal Insta Chef Ponggal Special featuring 15 monthly winners of the cooking contest who will complete Ponggal-related tasks. This show premieres on 15 January, 9.30pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202), Astro GO and On Demand.
Ponggal Badep on 17 January, 8pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202), Astro GO and On Demand.
Customers can also look forward to Ponggal specials from India, including:
Melodious musical show, Ponmaalai Pozhuthu starring renowned Indian singers, Hari Haran, Sadana Sargam, Sivangi, Unni Menon, Sriram and Reeta, showcasing evergreen songs of the legendary Indian musician and singer, Isaignani Ilaiyaraaja. Ponmaalai Pozhuthu premieres on 15 January, 2pm on Astro Vaanavil (Ch 201), Astro GO and On Demand.
Romance drama film, Nitham Oru Vaanam premiering on 16 January, 9.30pm on Astro Vinmeen (Ch 202), Astro GO and On Demand.
On the radio front, Malaysians can enjoy a fun-filled debate about the modern ways of celebrating Ponggal. Fans can also stream the Maatu Ponggal celebration between Suresh, Ahila and listeners via Instagram live on 16 Jan. For more information, visit raaga.my.
