KCET Launches New Online Video Series for SoCal Wanderer Hosted by Correspondent Jacob Soboroff

Los Angeles, CA- July 18, 2011 - KCET, the nations largest independent public television station serving Southern and Central California, has enhanced its popular SoCal Wanderer blog to include an ongoing series of video segments hosted by correspondent Jacob Soboroff.

SoCal Wanderer, dedicated to discovering outdoor adventures and activities in and around the greater Los Angeles area, debuted its inaugural video on the secret stairs of Los Angeles featuring Charles Fleming, author of Secret Stairs: A Walking Guide to Historic Staircases of Los Angeles.

In the segment, Soboroff joins a monthly hiking group led by Fleming on a trek that winds up, down and around the stairs of Glassell Park. Soboroff, who has interviewed celebrities and public figures from Barack Obama to Woody Allen, contributes a fun and personable style to the various segments, making traversing SoCal insightful and amusing. The video installments will be posted monthly.

California has a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunities, said Zach Behren, Editor-in-Chief of Blogs at KCET. We hope these videos will help residents and visitors become excited about trying something new.

The SoCal Wanderer blog, originally launched in April, features an array of outdoor tip-offs including discounted getaways, ideas for neighborhood recreation, and new additions to national parks and well-known trails.

The next episode will feature paddleboarding through the lens of the Paddleboard Race and Ocean Festival that took place last month at the Santa Monica pier.
