Radiotelevisione Svizzera (RSI) in Lugano celebrated the launch of their new online publishing production line which uses Escenic and Viz One.
The new integrated content production and distribution workflow, jointly delivered by Escenic and Vizrt, greatly simplifies RSIs production process, replacing among other things the use of 7 different content management systems. It is based on Escenic Content Engine 5.6 and Widget Framework 3 together with the Vizrt products Viz One, and Publisher. Based on these products, RSI now have:
A responsive web site. Pages automatically adapt to different types of user device and screen size, making a specialized mobile site unnecessary.
A fully-automated audio and video workflow. Programs are automatically transcoded and published once they have been broadcast. Editors can intervene in this process to enrich the online content if desired, but this is not required. See the results at Ultimi programmi TV online.
A manual audio and video workflow. Editors can push media material from Viz One to Escenic. Editors in the field can in addition use VizReporter to upload images, videos and audio clips.
Fully-automated podcasts (live soon).
A fully-automated electronic program guide (EPG). Site visitors can both check the RSI programming schedule and also access episodes they missed. Check it out at http://www.rsi.ch/palinsesto/. (Browsing program history will be live soon).
Support for user-generated content. Site visitors can submit messages and comments via a form on the RSI site, which is moderated from within Escenic Content Studio via the Escenic Dashboard plug-in.
Automated mailing via an Escenic/MailChimp integration. Newsletters are produced in Content Studio based on Escenic templates and then sent to subscribers via MailChimp, which manages the subscription lists.
