AJA ing achieved a cinematographic look unique in the film The Great American Movie Hustle indie Producida por Wonder Lab Films, la pel cula es un homenaje sat rico a los films picos.
El director Michael Anton y el actor Michael Monsour quer an lograr en su nueva producci n The Great American Movie Hustle una pel cula pica sobre c mo se produce una pel cula pica. Partiendo de este curioso planteamiento, esta parodia, producida por Wonder Lab Films, presenta en un formato de falso documental escenas de gran calado cinematogr fico pero a la par muy frescas y giles. Para lograr una est tica cinematogr fica distinta para la pel cula, Anton conf o a Doug Michaels la direcci n de foto rodando con una AJA Cion.
Michaels admite que acept el reto porque quer a comprobar en el campo hasta d nde es capaz de llegar la AJA Cion y tengo que decir que nuestra experiencia fue genial, ya que es f cil de controlar y manejar. Cion es una de las c maras m s intuitivas y f ciles de usar con las que haya trabajado nunca. Adem s ofrece todas las funcionalidades que necesitan sin el desorden de tener un mill n de botones. No es s lo una gran c mara de cine, es mucho m s .
Para determinadas escenas como persecuciones y como apoyo en escenas de acci n, el equipo de producci n utiliz la Canon C300. Todo el material fue capturado en ProRes 444 en 4K a 24fps, con ProRes 422 a 60fps 4K para las escenas de acci n que requer an un efecto de c mara lenta. Los Cion se configuraron para su uso en mano y al hombro contando con un visor Zacuto Z-Finder y lentes MTF Zeiss Nikon (14, 24, 35 y 50 mm.).
Michaels coment sobre la calidad de las im genes, que el material resultante ha sido magn fico, especialmente es escenas de alto contraste y claroscuros. Al llevarnos algunos clips a Final Cut apenas ten amos que tocar algo de color para descubrir lo que podr amos sacar de los negros .
La c mara tambi n se puede configurar f cilmente para el trabajo con Steadicam en escenas de acci n, un ajuste natural dada la construcci n ligera de Cion. El material se grab en este caso directamente en una unidad Pak SSD de AJA pasando a discos duros RAID despu s de cada d a de rodaje.
A pesar de los desaf os de la transici n entre secuencias cinematogr ficas y documentales, Michaels y su equipo encontraron en Cion una c mara totalmente vers til en todo.
Anton destaca que Cion nos ha permitido dar un aspecto nico a cada escena capturando una imagen n tida y limpia nica .
