BSI Certification Positions Blancco as Germany's First Nationwide Provider of Data Erasure for Public Agencies - Jun 19 2013 Erasure software and IT security leader continues providing the world's most certified data erasure software

JOENSUU, Finland, June 19, 2013 Blancco, the global leader in data erasure and computer reuse solutions, has announced that Blancco Version 5.1.1 software is certified by the Federal Office for Information Security (BSI), also known as the German Information Security Agency (GISA). The certified version fulfills the rigorous security requirements of BSI guidelines for erasure of classified documents from servers and computers, and has been audited by T ViT, an internationally recognized third-party IT testing organization.

With BSI certification, Blancco demonstrates its ongoing commitment to providing secure data removal for both the public sector and for private companies with stringent data security policies around the world, said Kim V is nen, CEO and Co-Founder of Blancco. Blancco software 5.1.1 is the first and only software in Germany granted the BSI Z-VSA-0111-2013 approval for use by public agencies and the BSI. The software went through a multi-year review process where both globally applicable Common Criteria conditions and the requirements from the Federal Office in Bonn were considered, leading to a version that was submitted to and approved by T ViT for data removal and reporting.
