Episode Pro Brings Powerful Video Transcoding to axle 2012 Media Management Integration offers easy access to a vast range of media formats and powerful encoding functions; joint solution brings radically simple, affordable, multiformat media encoding and management to creative professionals
Nevada City, Calif., December 10, 2012 - Telestream, the leading provider of digital media tools and workflow solutions, today announced an expanded partnership and tighter integration with axle Video's next-generation axle 2012 media management system for creative professionals. Utilizing Telestream's freely-available, easy-to-use API, axle 2012 integration now provides direct access to Episode Pro's format-rich video encoding software directly from within the axle user interface. Telestream and axle Video offer simple and affordable multiformat media encoding and management tools for small to mid-sized production teams.
Direct integration provides axle users with easy access to Episode's vast range of file formats and enables centralization of powerful encoding functions, said Barbara DeHart, vice president of marketing at Telestream. Episode Pro software provides the highest-quality video and audio transcodingin its class for the entire digital post-production workflow, from camera to delivery, with remarkable speed, powerful controls and cross-platform scalability. Collaboration and clustering are at the core of Episode Pros design, allowing users to easily join Mac and PC computers together to share encoding work among workstations.
Axle 2012 allows up to 10 Episode Pro software systems, each running on a multi-core processor, to be connected to a single axle media management system. This enables the fastest possible processing of high-res media into proxies up to 20x real-time speed. This level of throughput enables axle 2012 to better support documentary, sports, and other high-volume media workflows. The integration also offers axle users easy access to Episode Pro's encoding presets for a wide range of finishing formats, including Apple ProRes, Avid DNxHD, and much more.
The sheer breadth of formats supported by Episode Pro, as well as the ability to scale transcode throughput by adding low-cost Mac mini systems running the software, make Telestream an ideal partner for axle as we continue to bring radical simplicity to media management, said Sam Bogoch, CEO of axle Video. Axle has received wide acclaim, including a Best of IBC award, for its browser-based, radically simple approach to media management. The company's affordable software runs on a Mac mini appliance connected to nearly any storage and provides the ability to search, review and annotate material from iPads, PCs and Macs anywhere in the world. A new distribution partnership allows axle Video to distribute Episode Pro software licenses in conjunction with axle's media management software.

Episode Pro is priced at $995 and is available for free trial or purchase from Telestream or axle Video.
