Celebrating the UAE Innovation Week 2016, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry has launched mobile office to provide its services to clients in remote areas

The Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry (SCCI) has come up with an innovative idea to provide its services to clients in faraway places or after the office hours in emergency. The chamber has launched a van equipped with all necessary devices connected with the head-office through WiFi to help the customers.

This concept car, aptly called Business on Wheels,' was launched by SCCI as part of its activities during the UAE Innovation Week 2016, being celebrated at the Expo Centre Sharjah.

The van has been turned into a small executive office with enough space for four-five people to sit and discuss their requirements and solve the problems immediately. The van is fitted with a telephone, a fax machine, scanner, and printer.

Samira Ali Ahmed Ali of SCCI said that the service is being introduced as a trial to test how a well-equipped office van can serve as a sustainable means for SCCI customers living in remote areas who spend significant time in traffic. However, she expressed confidence that the mobile office will prove to be a boon for SCCI customers.

She said that initially the mobile office will be available during the usual office hours throughout the weekdays and on Thursdays after-office hours as well, to serve the customers who need our services in emergency. However, the SCCI may extend the service on all seven days of the week and on holidays as well at a later stage.

This mobile office was developed based on a technical and functional analysis. We have got five such vehicles ready to serve the customers from January 2017. I am confident that this mobile office will reduce customers' worry to get our services in remote areas, help them cut the stress of traffic jams, as well as reduce crowd at the head office too, she added.

Celebrating the UAE Innovation Week 2016, the Sharjah Chamber of Commerce and Industry also launched its new website and mobile App at the exhibition. Abdullah Eisa Al Mulla, eCommunication Executive at SCCI, said that the new website and the mobile App have been designed to benefit the business community.

The mobile App, named SCCI, is available at iOS and Android platforms. Customers can use it to avail faster services. They can log in to know their application status, dues, and other requirements. One of the most important services is the business directory that allows the user to search for any business establishment using its name, location, PO Box, or telephone number.

Business community can also use the Smart Application or website for suggestion, which may improve SCCI's facilities.
