Company Will Sponsor April 28 Appearance of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago

IRVINE, CA-January 7, 2016-Continuing its long-standing support of the performing arts, Sonnet Technologies will once again sponsor a marquee dance presentation at Irvine Barclay Theatre in Irvine, California, next spring. Sonnet's latest upcoming sponsorship is the April 28 performance of Hubbard Street Dance Chicago, a special program to honor the Barclay's 25th anniversary season.

Now in its 37th year, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago is a company known for its eclectic, international repertory and for its impeccable dancers, said Robert Farnsworth, CEO of Sonnet Technologies. We are especially honored to sponsor this 2016 performance, which promises to be an outstanding tribute to the Barclay's 25-year contribution to the arts in our community.

Appearing as part of Irvine Barclay Theatre's 2016 Contemporary Dance Series, Hubbard Street Dance Chicago first performed at the Barclay nearly 25 years ago under the auspices of its founding artistic director, Lou Conte. Hubbard Street has appeared in celebrated dance venues in 44 states and 19 countries and is currently touring nationwide and internationally. Glenn Edgerton, Hubbard Street's current artistic director and company visionary, will curate a special program in honor of the Barclay's 25th anniversary season.

Since its inaugural performance in 1990, Irvine Barclay Theatre has developed into one of Californias most imaginative performing arts venues. The theater is operated by an independent nonprofit organization in an innovative public/private partnership with the City of Irvine and the University of California, Irvine. Over its 25-year history, the theater has developed a reputation for wide-ranging programming in the fields of contemporary dance, music, and theater arts. Performances take place in the 750-seat Cheng Hall, known for its intimate atmosphere, excellent sightlines, and superb acoustics. Irvine's Barclay Theatre and its diverse presentations and community services are made possible by contributions from individuals and corporate sponsorships from companies, including Sonnet.
