Animation and VFX studio Jellyfish Pictures is employing technology from Teradici Cloud Access Software and Microsoft Azure to enable its global workforce to work from home.

The company has implemented the new model to enable artists to join the company from Israel, India, North America, Finland, Canada, Spain and R union.

It is utilising Microsoft Azure's backbone to set up hubs all over the world, which will connect back to the Jellyfish Pictures' data centre in the UK.

All of the company's content is on Pixit Media's software-defined storage solution, PixStor, which runs in the Cloud. PixStor's data manager Ngenea is integrated with pipeline tools and Azure, enabling Jellyfish's employees to access their content from anywhere in the world, When work is completed, the files are automatically moved back to the UK data centre.

Content is streamed to the remote workers' monitors via an encrypted streaming session over Teradici PCoIP technology.

Phil Dobree, CEO, Jellyfish Pictures, said, From the very beginning when I first started looking at Cloud and virtual technologies with Jellyfish CTO, Jeremy Smith, it was always my vision to be able to go to where the artists are. We introduced Cloud rendering and virtual desktops so we could break out of our four walls. Now in 2020, with events no one could have foreseen, we have over 280 artists working from home with no loss in productivity. Moving our staff to this environment was a relatively simple one, connecting to the data centre from home is the same as if they were connecting from the studio.
