The foundation stone of the new headquarters of Telekom has been laid

The new headquarters built and developed by the WING Group will be made the workplace of the future by 21st century technology and ambitious architectural solutions

With the participation of Szijj rt P ter, minister of foreign economy and foreign affairs, on November 15 in a ceremony the foundation stone of the Magyar Telekom headquarters - owned and built by WING Zrt. within the company's capital expenditure project - was laid. The event was also attended by Noah Steinberg, chairman and CEO of WING Zrt., as well as Christopher Mattheisen, chief executive officer of Magyar Telekom Nyrt. The largest office building in Hungary - located within one block of buildings - will worthily be called the workplace of the future due to its location, energy efficient appliances and humanly designed inner spaces.

Wing is leader in the Hungarian real estate market, creating value through its operation both in the sense of architecture, functionality and economy. This is also verified by the fact that Magyar Telekom chose Wing as a partner in this development project of dominant importance for both companies. The new headquarters represent long term values regarding architectural qualities, as well as a modern workplace and a facility dominating the city landscape - with its size and appearance it will be a landmark, welcoming those arriving from the direction of Liszt Ferenc International Airport. Creating such a building is an immense challenge, requiring substantial market expertise, experiences and a solid financial background. I am convinced that this fantastic , world class building will be the worthy new headquarters of Magyar Telekom - said Noah Steinberg, chairman and CEO of the developer WING Zrt., at the foundation stone laying ceremony.

The new headquarters will be the workplace of about 4,500 people. We shall establish an inspiring environment, accommodating creative ideas, innovative solutions and precise work. We also take HR trends into consideration, for example by reflecting upon the matrix based, silo free operation with using the space flexibly. We wish to create the workplace of the future, that is built equally for us, people well versed about the world of info communication as well as for the employees. I am convinced that the Magyar Telekom headquarters will stand the test of both time and generations - said Christopher Mattheisen, chief operating officer of Magyar Telekom Nyrt.

About the building

The new Magyar Telekom headquarters - with useful area of 58,000 sq meters, to be built at K nyves K lm n k r t under the token of sustainability, becoming a landmark of Budapest - will be one of the most innovative offices buildings of Hungary, due to its accessibility, energy efficient appliances and the solutions applied to offer a healthy working environment.

Beside the outside - carrying the message of the 21st century atmosphere, dynamism and strength - the internal design will also be based on the most recent HR and IT trends. Internal spaces - in close cooperation with the developer - will be established to promote efficient operation, while also creating an elegant, flexible and creative working environment. The fitness-wellness center will also be built under the same token, as well as the 200 meters long outdoor running track or the indoor green garden. The building will also accommodate an underground garage with the capacity of 1,350 cars, safe bike storage for 300 bicycles, as well as a conference room with the capacity of 300 people. In addition to the areas rented by Telekom, further space of 4,000 sq meters is also available for lease to other tenants. The project expected to be completed by 2018 will create work for about 1,000 people.

The headquarters will be completed by the second half of 2018, and the term of the rental agreement with Magyar Telekom is 15 years. Unicredit Bank Hungary and K&H Bank are members of the funding bank consortium. The architectural plans of the headquarters were made by TIBA p t sz St di (Architect Studio) while implementation jobs are carried out by Market p t .
