From 26 to 27 November a workshop on digital content writing will be held at the Empire Executive Apartments and Hotel in Sandton, Johannesburg. Developed by experts and professional writers, the course offers guidelines on how best to write for a number of digital platforms including websites, mobile apps or tablets.

The course costs R6999.00 per person and is designed for marketing teams, public relations professionals, client service teams, web managers, journalists, editors and any communication professional who regularly uses a variety of digital communication channels.

During the course attendees will learn to:

Understand how an audience reads, interprets and interacts with digital media and how that differs from print

Produce persuasive digital copy whether youre responsible for writing, editing, repurposing or evaluating existing work

Understand the theory behind successful digital content for web, email, social media and blogs

Create copy that will be found by search engines and attract more traffic to your website

Use copy and content to generate more return on investment

Session 1: Digital Mindsets Learn about the psychology of how you read online and why this influences writing for digital media

Session 2: Writing for the Web Discover the key writing ingredients in a web page and how to use them effectively

Session 3: Writing Approaches Start to apply different digital tips and tricks to make your copy engage with the reader

Making emails and email marketing campaigns work harder

Editing and repurposing content for digital channels

Session 4: Writing for Social Media Master how to write with professional informality and strengthen the relationship with your Fans and Followers.

Day two agenda

Blogging: What makes a great blog?

Social Media - think strategically, not tactically

Session 5: Writing for Chat Discover the implications of written versus actual time and how to manage it

Using social media for search

Session 6: Language Learn why having some basic linguistic know-how will improve the quality of your digital communication.
