TORONTO (March 22, 2013) Breakthrough Entertainment has joined with 5-time Grammy award winner and beloved member of the first family of Gospel R&B Music Carvin Winans for The Mix, a six-part one-hour series that features many of the recording industry's most acclaimed artists in a soulful celebration of the world's most popular forms of music.

Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, Michael McDonald, Quincy Jones, Billy Bob Thornton, Aretha Franklin, CC Winans and Kenny G, are among the globally-renowned artists who will sit one-on-one with host Carvin Winans for intimate interviews before joining together in jam sessions of musical magic.

Each episode of The Mix will begin with Winans and his famous guests sharing their lives and love of music as never seen before. After sharing their legendary stories, Winans and guests will join in duet, always resulting in joy-filled, memorable and often-times unexpected musical moments.

The Mix is produced by Breakthrough Entertainment and Joel Goldberg, a multi award-winning Producer/Director of music-based television programming, documentaries and music videos, including his groundbreaking Juno Award for Best Music Video Drop the Needle by rap artist Maestro Fresh Wes, the full length feature documentaries Flip, Flop, and Fly, 40 Years of the Downchild Blues Band which continues to air on HBO Canada, TMN and Movie Central and Pacing The Cage, a profile of Bruce Cockburn, which was most recently featured at the Whistler Film Festival.
