Archion Technologies, a world leader in high performance shared media storage, has announced that its EditStor Shared Media Storage Solution has been embraced by Stun Creative, a leading ad/marketing agency specializing in promotional content for major television networks, top TV programs, and brands. Heralded by Promax/BDA in 2014 as the Agency of the Year, Stun, winner of numerous Cannes Lion, Emmy, Promax/BDA, Webby, and other television and advertising awards, features an in-house, Avid-based post production facility managed by Doug Ryan, the agency's Vice President of Post Production. Having to regularly deal with very high levels of quality media demanded by Stun's major industry clients, Ryan and his team had an important decision to make when their pre-existing Avid Unity system was no longer being supported. Nearly a decade earlier, Stun expanded their Avid Unity SAN with Archion's award-winning Synergy storage solution, marking a long history of relying on Archion shared storage products.
In 2015, Ryan and the Stun team next looked into the Avid Isis, but realized that that system lacked the performance and overall functionality Stun was seeking. Instead, Ryan and Stun made the critical decision to turn to Archion, and invested in an EditStor System, a far more cost-effective solution to ISIS - and one that offered three times more throughput and provided the very important transparent Avid project sharing. Since integrating EditStor into Stun's post production facility, Ryan and his team have been using EditStor during the intensive editorial process behind Stun's various promotional projects, including television promos, TV network ID campaigns, interstitials, television commercials, web content, sizzle reels, corporate presentations, and numerous other marketing materials.
Says Ryan, With Archion EditStor, we can seamlessly connect all 14 of our Avid bays using 10-gig - all of them with Avid project sharing and blazing speeds capable of streaming DNxHD 175x & 220x. At the same moment, the assists can connect using SMB or AFP to ingest and manage media without the need for special PCle cards or seat licenses.
