SA movie to open Pan African Film Fest --

--
The Pan African Film Festival (PAFF), which runs from 6 to 17 February in Los Angeles, will feature the South African film, Of Good Report, as its opening night production.
Though not yet confirmed, director Jahmil X.T. Qubeka s attendance is likely as first night screenings are usually followed by a question-and-answer session with the movie s cast and filmmakers.
The movie, which tells the story of a school teacher with a penchant for young girls and who subsequently turns murderous, was originally banned by the South African Film and Publications Board, preventing it from screening as the opening night production of the 2013 Durban International Film Festival (DIFF).
Of Good Report has since been uncensored and is considered by many to be a modern-day classic example of film noir and a notable milestone in African cinema.
PAFF showcases a broad spectrum of creative works which promote cultural understanding among people of African descent.
