The Best and the Beautiful at IBC04

Six international companies represented by UK distributor Aspen Media will bring many new developments to IBC this September making a visit to Amsterdam a necessity.

RTW, stand 8.D92, has consistently led the field in loudness metering and mindful of the implementation of the DPPs new broadcast delivery standards in October, it will show the new compact TM3-Primus. TM3-Primus provides direct USB connection desktop audio metering for workstations and servers without the need for analogue or digital audio connections.

With its longstanding expertise in metering, RTW knows a bit about writing efficient metering code so its new Masterclass PlugIns Loudness Tools plug-in provides essential loudness metering without strangling the normal audio processing capability of the workstation.

Junger Audio, stand 10.A49, will present the new DAP8 CODEC EDITION Coding/Decoding audio processor, designed in collaboration with Dolby Labs as a viable alternative to the classic Dolby decoding and encoding units. The CODEC EDITION also checks loudness compliance, analysing loudness and true peak levels from input signals and transferring the measurement data via Ethernet to Jngers logging software.

The DAP4 VAP voice processor scrutinises incoming audio and compares its spectrum with individual voice fingerprints and automatically applies dynamic EQ corrections to give a consistent sound-style. This is proving equally useful in Post Production and Live TV to give the same vocal consistency to ADR, voiceovers and continuity.

US controller manufacturer JLCooper, stand 7.J43, will bring VTC1 a pocket sized video transport controller to the show. The VTC1 is designed for remote control of file based recorders such as Black Magic Hyperdeck, AJA KiPro and Sony. The remote functions include Forward and Reverse Play, Still, Stop, Rewind, Fast Forward and VTC1 configures to provide clip browsing on decks that support this feature.

Visitors to DirectOut Technologies stand 8.E85 will see the MONTONE.42 a MADI to Ravenna Audio-over-IP bridge, designed for seamless integration between MADI and networked audio devices. Also new are the MA2CHBOX.XL and the KYRA. MA2CHBOX.XL is a highly flexible reference class headphone and speaker monitor controller for MADI and AES3 utilising an integrated 194 x 194 audio router. KYRA is a MADI line checker, monitoring mixer and controller that sums up to 4 mono or stereo channels to front panel speakers, headphone output or external speakers.

Console manufacturer Stagetec, stand 8.C80, will demonstrate the ON AIR flex, a networked and highly configurable broadcast mixer that may be operated via a web-browser virtual-surface. The new generation of NEXUS cards will be available; NEXUS XRT, a ground-breaking high-density distributed audio routing and Ethernet transport for 8448 sources and 8448 destinations, NEXUS XETR - 8ch input and output card and HXETR -16ch high-density 8 AES I/O ports.

Renowned intercom and commentary system manufacture DELEC, stand 10.D30, will show its latest oratis compact, an adaptable intercom for small or mobile Broadcast and Performance systems. It includes 1U to 8U rack mount and desktop intercom panels and is expandable and networkable with up to 64 Dante channels.
