Gateway Administration as Software as a Service and from a Single Source

Arvato Systems reorganizes GWA solutions

G tersloh - Arvato Systems is repositioning itself in the area of software for the energy transition and smart metering. In future, all solutions will be provided via the in-house cloud. This also includes gateway administration, which will now operate under the new name AEP.GWA and be offered as Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) from a single source. The new solution landscape will be completed by the beginning of October. Certification of the data center by an auditor appointed by the German Federal Office for Information Security (BSI) has already been scheduled, meaning that a market launch can be expected in early 2025.

Arvato Systems is therefore relying on innovative technologies to open new opportunities, optimize framework conditions and become even more efficient and flexible. In this case, too, we are building on our extensive experience to make the best possible use of the latest technological developments, explains Dr. Andr Hoffmann, Product Portfolio Manager at Arvato Systems. We have come to the clear conclusion that it is most effective to offer complete process chains for gateway and control box administration as Software-as-a-Service from a single source. We specialize in this SaaS approach and will now also implement it in this area for the benefit of our customers.

Utilities industry as a strategic target sector for Arvato Systems The utilities industry, with its dynamic subject areas, is a natural choice for our strategic direction, explains Olaf Steinbrink, Managing Director Utilities in the Arvato Systems Group. We have a great deal of expertise in energy market processes and excellent technological solutions. However, we take a long-term view of the energy transition. The transformation of the industry is still in its infancy, so we will certainly see some movement. With our solution approach, we will be optimally prepared for this in every respect.

The future belongs to dynamic and scalable solutions We are convinced that the future belongs to dynamic and scalable solutions, says Michael Kuhrs, experienced industry expert and new Product Manager for AEP.GWA. Integration and scalability are two key requirements for future processes relating to the smart meter gateway. The scaling requirement will become a crucial issue in the future. We are also able to set up the standardized SaaS solution in a short time and make it usable for customers. The solutions high level of efficiency significantly reduces set-up costs - even for complex migration projects. Our customers benefit from a smooth and fast transition without having to compromise on flexibility or scalability.

With AEP.GWA, we will be able to offer a complete package that has a solid foundation, summarizes Dr. Andr Hoffmann. We are using the components that we already use very successfully elsewhere at Arvato Systems and combining them with each other. We are firmly anchored in the industry and have been working with all established gateway manufacturers for many years. We also have extensive expertise in setting up and maintaining comprehensive platform solutions, as well as in the migration of cloud infrastructures. In certifying our data center for the GWA processes, we are building on the experience that Arvato Systems has gained in the e-health division with the BSI certification of the infrastructure for the provision of the digital health card for Gematik. In one sentence: We are positioning ourselves even better and are more alive than ever!
