Samsung Launches New G-Series Four-Door Refrigerator on Feb 05, 2013 New counter depth four door refrigerator helps to maximise food storage capacity and maintain food freshness

Samsung Electronics today announced a new addition to its premium home appliance range a four-door counter depth refrigerator (RF24), which addresses growing demand from consumers for a refrigerator whose capacity and features meet their changing lifestyles and delivers a new level for ease of use, convenience and organisation.

As the cost of food rises*, consumers are looking for new ways to save money. Buy one get one free deals and value pack groceries may deliver more food at a lower cost to feed families of all sizes, but the refrigerator back at home needs to be able to accommodate the various sizes and shapes of these items.

While consumers may be buying in bulk, they are also finding ways to incorporate fresher and healthier items into their families' meals, meaning they are making more frequent trips to the grocery store and farmer's markets to purchase fresh food. Those smaller, frequent purchases lead to food regularly going in and out of the refrigerator, making organisational storage options and maximising usable space within the refrigerator critical to keeping that food fresher for longer.

More space and organisation

The RF24 features more than 540 litres of usable space, specifically designed to help consumers to more efficiently organise the content of their refrigerator and get the most out of it. They can make and adjust their food purchases as they please, without having to question if their refrigerator can accommodate the groceries they bring home.

Additionally, the newly-designed Ice Master ice maker, features a slim profile which creates more interior space in the refrigerator whilst at the same time increasing its ice production over standard ice makers.

The four-door counter depth refrigerator's optimal size and design means consumers can maximise how their refrigerator works for them, and enjoy flawless food organisation and storage. A two-step foldable shelf also means space can instantly be created in a matter of seconds to accommodate taller items, such as bottles of drink, enhancing storage while minimising the amount of unusable space left inside the refrigerator.

Flexibility and convenience through CoolSelect

The RF24 also features a CoolSelect Zone Drawer that rests at counter-height to create a clean line across the kitchen. The drawer itself has four distinct preset temperature settings, allowing customers to set a custom temperature that works best for the contents in the drawer. The CoolSelect Zone Drawer presets include settings for meat and fish (-1C), cold drinks (1C), deli / snacks (3C) and wine / party dishes (5C). Whether it is a party-sized platter that requires a temporary spot, a place to chill down cold beverages on a hot weekend, or a regular location to store mum-approved snacks and juice boxes where kids can help themselves, this refrigerator will keep every type of food at the perfect temperature.

The CoolSelect Zone Drawer also has a new feature called the Smart Divider which is comprised of slim metal guides that glide horizontally and vertically with the move of a single knob. The Smart Divider makes it easy to adjust the size of the storage space to the size of the items placed in the drawer, and the dividers keep each item in its place. This drawer also opens easily with the new Clean Easy Handle and pulls out further to make it easy to access items in the CoolSelect Zone Drawer.

Stylish design

The four-door counter depth French door refrigerator is designed to blend perfectly into kitchens of different styles and sizes. The sleek stainless steel design and intuitive exterior touch display for water, ice and temperature settings, project a simple, elegant design. The mid-drawer is now aligned at counter height so as to not interrupt the clean line flow of the kitchen.

The refrigerator also features Samsung's new Clean Easy Handle, which provides an optimal, comfortable grip every time any of the four doors are opened or closed. When open, the interior is illuminated brightly with Samsung's energy-efficient LED lighting. The LED bulbs are twice as bright as their predecessors but are a cooler source of light so they emit less heat and save space while being energy efficient.

UK availability

The Samsung RF24 four-door counter depth French door refrigerator will be available to buy in the UK from high street, online and out-of-town retailers from May 2013. Pricing is subject to individual retailers.
