VSN brings its knowledge to students at the Agile University Day

VSN brings its knowledge to students at the Agile University Day 21 October 2014Next October 25th the Agile Spain University Day event will be held with the intention of bringing together ten campus throughout Spain around agile software development, based on self-organized multidisciplinary group collaboration. An idea boosted by Jorge Muria, Development Manager at VSN, whose main objective is to bring the university community (teachers and students) and the companies closer, in order to reduce the gap between the two sectors in agility, with lectures and seminars on this kind of technology.

More than ten Spanish universities will participate at the event, with activities and presentations on agile methodologies, case studies and the working scenario that students will meet upon graduation. These campus that will gather around the flag of agile software development are the University of Alicante, School of Computer Engineering of Oviedo, Polytechnic School of Engineering of Gij n, IEBS Madrid, UPNA Navarra, University of Extremadura, UPV , University of Deusto, University of Mondrag n and university of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria.

Jorge Muria , founder of Agile Alicante and Developer at VSN, says about the event that "we want to approach universities and the people who will soon share with us the labor market. There are some things that universities do not teach on the labor market, and we want to chat about some of them with the students. We also want to bring the agile world to universities, very often focused only on traditional methodologies, learn what it takes to teach agile values in an academic environment. But of course we do not forget the professionals; the content and quality of the conferences and activities will make it a very useful and productive event for anyone who needs to keep growing and learning .

VSN will present two conferences at the Agile Spain event at the University of Alicante, on October 25th. First, Oscar Blasco, Senior Software Engineer at VSN will describe Agile methodologies currently used in the company with a case study that exemplifies the best practices of using this way of working. Second, Jorge Muria, VSN's Development Manager, will speak on the Kanban board and how it drives development processes through the management of intellectual labor and delivery in a team.

Agile Spain is an association committed to agile methodologies and the development and dissemination of Agile software in Spain. It seeks to promote and disseminate the use of agile methodologies in Spanish companies, research centers and universities, and to promote research and development in these methodologies, especially in software development and consulting, to help business and workers to grow.
