California Governor's Office of Emergency Services to Deploy TVU Networks for Continued Pool Feed Video Sharing of COVID-19 Daily Press BriefingsState Has Relied on TVU's Project Pool Feed Initiative Since April to Provide Content to Broadcasters during Pandemic

MOUNTAIN VIEW, CA - September 23, 2020 - TVU Networks, the market and technology leader in cloud and IP-based live video solutions, today announced California Governor's Office of Emergency Services (Cal OES) has purchased a complete TVU live video solution, which includes a TVU One transmitter, TVU Transceiver and TVU Grid. Cal OES has been able to provide pool feed video of the governor's COVID-19 weekly press briefings. As the pandemic continues to affect the state, TVU's live video solutions will allow Cal OES to share live coverage with local broadcasters, as well as national broadcast and cable news networks safely and in support of social distancing guidelines.

At the outset of the COVID-19 pandemic, TVU launched Project Pool Feed, which allowed government entities across the country to provide essential live video pool feeds for news stations. In California, Cal OES began participating in Project Pool Feed in April, allowing officials to safely and reliably share critical information with residents across the state during the pandemic.

Cal OES has invested in its own TVU equipment with a data plan as a longer-term solution for distributing content to local and national media outlets. The TVU One transmitter will also allow for coverage of remote briefings, providing the flexibility of broadcasting official events from any location. TVU Grid provides scalable live video distribution to TV, radio, news publications, news portal, social media platforms, CDNs and the state's website. Project Pool Feed continues to serve many states in providing critical information to their residents through news organizations in their local markets.

The services provided by TVU have been critical for us to provide information to the public, while doing that through a safe means for staff and principals. The TVU Grid pool feeds give us strong reach with media outlets across the entire state, as well as nationally, and allows our team to reliably and safely share the latest developments at press briefings.

With TVU Grid, broadcasters can transition toward an entirely IP-based infrastructure by using a standard internet connection to deliver high-quality, low-latency video from one place to many others, resolving the need for traditional expensive fiber and satellite. TVU GridLink provides a video preview from hundreds of news agencies and has embedded rich metadata to help with live content search.

The backbone edge device within the TVU Ecosystem, TVU Transceiver is designed to host multiple TVU applications that can accomplish several tasks simultaneously. TVU Transceiver allows users to view, manage and monitor all video content from one device. It is also the gateway to TVU Grid, allowing IP content to be routed and distributed within your network or with partner networks.
