Times are changing. Digitalisation generates new challenges but also new chances for the film industry. Gathering information has the top priority. Thus, the specialised trade show cinec provides an ideal market place for all film professionals. Booths can already been booked for the event in fall 2014.

Digitalisation has pervaded more and more realms - also in cinema technology. It is no longer the question if digital cameras are used, but in which resolution. 4K technology is being discussed, it won't disappear. Optics need to be developped which can transmit higher resolutions, post production and particularly color management is being adjusted to 4K. In general, it can be said that digitalisation brings equipment prices down. Therefore, old business models fall away and there is need for adaptipon and new ideas.

A suitable platform will be offered at the trade show cinec in Munich in September 2014. All motion picture professionals can use this forum to gather information, network and exchange ideas. Innovations and further developments from creation to projection will be on display. Distribution channels gain importance, as they are mostly digital nowadays: films need to be available from various platforms - cinema, internet, TV, DVD and Blue Ray, smartphones and tablet computers.

Above all, high standards are set asking for films with beautiful pictures or sensational innovations which can be reached through cutting-edge equipment , describes the organizer's managing director Angelika Albrecht the motivation and ambition of the cinec. Last year, almost 4,000 visitors from Germany and 57 other countries were attracted by nearly 180 exhibitors. This shows cinecs importance as one of the leading specialized show clearly focussed on cine equipment and technology.

In 2014, the trade show takes place for the 10th time. Since its beginnings in 1996, cinec was able to grow continously with regard to exhibitors as well as visitors. One reason for this are the accompanying events, such as the cineCongress or the glamorous cinecAwards. Several talks and panel discussions will again complement the exhibition.

The presentation of the technology awards will again be a spectacular highlight, where the Society of CineTechnik Bayern e.V. awards prizes for innovative and trendsetting products and developments of the motion picture technology. Award winners in 2012 included, amongst others, ARRI, Campilots, Cooke Optics Ltd. and Volfoni SAS.
