Coverage on RT of UK General Election 2019 Results

RT will present comprehensive coverage of the UK General Election 2019 results on Thursday 12th and Friday 13th December across television, radio and online.

RT 's London Correspondent Sean Whelan will be reporting live from the UK capital with RT 's Northern Editor Tommie Gorman and Northern Correspondent Vincent Kearney reporting on the overall impact of results across Northern Ireland.

Online coverage will run on rte.ie/news and on the RT News Now app from the opening of boxes right through the night to the completion of every count. RT .ie/news will run two live blogs focusing on the counts in Northern Ireland and the overall UK picture. They will include the latest results, reaction and analysis on UK Election 2019.

Live coverage on the RT News Now channel (available on all TV platforms and on the RT News Now App) will have a rolling results service, and breaking news developments as well as carrying coverage of the key RT Election programmes.

Thursday December 12th

On UK Polling Day, Thursday 12th December RT One's Six One News will have the latest developments as Caitr ona Perry co-presents the programme from outside the Houses of Parliament in central London.

As polls close at 10.00pm on Thursday night and the count begins, Prime Time on RT One and RT News Now will report live on the UK Election 2019 exit polls as the data becomes available.

On RT Radio 1 at 10.00pm, Katie Hannon in Dublin will host comprehensive coverage of the election count in Great Britain and Northern Ireland. Cormac hEadhra will co-present from Belfast and analyse the results from Northern Ireland's 18 Westminster constituencies, as they come in from RT Radio's team of reporters in all the count centres. And in London, Philip Boucher-Hayes will report from outside the Palace of Westminster throughout the night and bring reaction to the Exit Poll and the first results from representatives of all the major UK political parties.

Beginning at 11.00pm on RT One and RT News Now, and continuing on-air until 4.00am the following morning, there will be live television results coverage on UK Election 2019. Presenter Miriam O'Callaghan will be joined by guests at the count centre in the Belfast Titanic Exhibition Centre, while Bryan Dobson will be presenting coverage of the results from England, Scotland and Wales from London, with David McCullagh live from the main television news studio in RT in Dublin. The programme will provide coverage of breaking results across Northern Ireland, updates on the wider UK results, interviews, discussion and analysis.

Friday December 13th

On Friday 9th December, Rachael English in Westminster, Gavin Jennings in Belfast will present an extended Morning Ireland on RT Radio 1, beginning at the earlier time of 6.00am.

RT Raidi na Gaeltachta morning current affairs programme Adhmhaidin will broadcast an extended edition of the show live from Belfast from 7.00am. Gormfhlaith N Thuairisg will present, and panelists in studio will include P il n N Chiar in, Ian Malcolm, Eoghan N ill, Ciar n Pronntaigh and Ursula N Shabhaois. M che l Conch ir will report on the reaction in Brussels, Political Correspondent M che l Leidhin will be in London, and there'll also be reactions from Wales and Scotland.

Aine Lawlor will present an RT News hour-long special television programme, UK Election 2019, on Friday morning from 9.00am on RT One and RT News Now. The programme will feature details of all the results that have happened overnight, plus live coverage from London with Caitr ona Perry and Belfast.

Today with Sean O'Rourke on RT Radio 1 will present comprehensive post-election coverage and analysis, as a new government is formed at Westminster.

At 1.00pm RT Raidi na Gaeltachta Coverage will continue on Nuacht a hAon with Cormac hEadhra, 1 pm 3 pm, and T s ite from 5 pm with Michelle Nic Grianna.

Nuacht RT /TG4 will also have have detailed election coverage on bulletins on RT One, RT News Now, TG4 and online with a count update tracker on the News Now app, updates on social media, and full coverage of all results and reaction from Northern Ireland and Britain on all platforms thoughout Thursday and Friday.

And on RT Radio 1's Drivetime there will be full coverage of the UK-wide results, with reporters Philip Boucher-Hayes in London and Barry Lenihan in Belfast.

RT One's Six One News on Friday will be co-presented by Caitr ona Perry in London with reports from London correspondent, Sean Whelan, Northern Editor, Tommie Gorman and Europe Editor, Tony Connelly.

On Saturday morning at 10.00am, with the full results in, An tSeachtain le M ir n N Ghadhra will take a look at the implications of the results for the UK and Northern Ireland.
