Seen on Screen: Fox Sports Secures Rights to CONCACAF Cup Match; NBC Universo Celebrates Hispanic Heritage Mon

Fox Sports has secured the multi-platform media rights to a CONCACAF Cup match; a one-match, winner-take-all playoff between the United States and Mexico determining which nation represents the region in the prestigious 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup. It marks the beginning of Fox Sports' Road to Russia and the network's coverage of FIFA World Cup Russia 2018, as Fox Sports prepares to cover massive events from the U.S. Men's National Team between the CONCACAF CUP and FIFA World Cup 2018. The U.S.-Mexico match airs live in primetime on FS1 on Saturday, Oct 10, from the Rose Bowl in Pasadena. On the Spanish-language side, FOX Deportes will feature special segments live from the Rose Bowl on its flagship soccer program La Ultima Palabra with former Mexican National team captain Alberto Garcia Aspe

NBA UNIVERSO kicks off Hispanic Heritage month with a programming lineup that includes top sports franchises and exclusive entertainment specials. Latino viewers will enjoy exclusive sports, big events, and thrilling specials that celebrate the Hispanic community in the U.S. Starting Sept. 29, NBC UNIVERSO will exclusively air Le n and Pachuca home matches from Liga MX, kicking off with the highly anticipated match between Le n vs. Am rica at 9:00 p.m. ET. On Oct. 1, NBC UNIVERSO will also exclusively air the CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying matches starting at 6:30 p.m. ET. The NFL is back in Spanish on NBC UNIVERSO on Sunday, Sept. 27 when NBC UNIVERSO will air a Hispanic Heritage special produced by NBC Deportes followed by the Denver Broncos facing off against the Detroit Lions at 8:00 p.m. ET

With NHL training camps opening this week, the NHL Network announced its upcoming programming schedule ahead of the 2015-16 season, featuring more than 40 preseason games telecasts in 15 days, a new studio show schedule, and 12 live regular season games in October. NHL Network begins its preseason games this Sunday, Sept. 20, with the New Jersey Devils against the Boston Bruins at 7:00 p.m. ET. On Thursday, Sept. 24, NHL Network and NHL.com will exclusively air the fourth annual CCM/USA Hockey All-American Prospects Game, a showcase of the top U.S. players eligible for the 2016 NHL Draft from the First Niagara Center in Buffalo at 7:00 p.m. ET. NHL Network's 2015-16 live studio programming includes three signature weekday shows NHL Live, NHL Tonight, and On The Fly originating from the network's new studio space in Secaucus, NJ. The Network's live studio coverage of the regular season begins with NHL Opening Night on Wednesday, Oct. 7, featuring the latest news and previews of the night's match-ups on NHL Live at 5:00 p.m. ET

Comcast SportsNet Chicago will once again deliver a thrilling season of NHL excitement with 50 live regular season Blackhawks games (23 home, 27 away), along with four preseason games, in-depth pre/post-game shows, extensive nightly coverage on SportsNet Central, and the most thorough 24/7 online Blackhawks coverage to date on CSNChicago.com. The first regular season game broadcast will be a road opener and the debut of NHL in the Barclays Center in Brooklyn as the Blackhawks face the New York Islanders on Friday, Oct. 9, beginning at 6:00 p.m. CT

Stephen Espinoza, Head of ShowTime Sports, says the network is in talks about a reality show involving the Mayweather clan that would serve as one of Floyd's endeavors in retirement. Espinoza said the series would be evocative of Showtime's All-Access show, providing footage of the Mayweather Boxing Club, where Mayweather trains in Las Vegas. After Saturday's win over Andre Berto, Mayweather (49-0, 26 knockouts) has fulfilled his six-fight Showtime/CBS contract that, according to Espinoza, has produced a total of nearly 10 million pay-per-view buys and roughly $750 million in PPV receipts through five fights.
