Seen on Screen provides a roundup of the current sports programming landscape as networks deal with the impact of the coronavirus pandemic. In this week's edition, major networks like NBC Sports, Fox Sports, and ESPN are combating the silence of no live sports with previously-released, taped, or archival content. Many networks have also continued producing live studio content - often with on-air talent located remotely.

NBC Sports Chicago has announced additional pro game replacement programming as the network will be re-airing 70 victories from the 2005 Chicago White Sox World Series Championship season, which will also include replays of every American League Division Series, American League Championship Series and World Series game.

Beginning this Thursday, March 26 at 5 p.m. ET, NBC Sports Chicago will take viewers back to Opening Day 2005 when White Sox hosted the AL Central rival Cleveland Indians. Every day from March 26 through April 16, NBC Sports Chicago will carry a 2005 White Sox Classic game telecast at 5 p.m. ET, which will lead into the network's previously announced 8 p.m. ET nightly schedule of either a 2010 Stanley Cup Championship Blackhawks Classic game or a 1996 NBA Championship Bulls Classic game. Beginning April 17 through June 3, White Sox Classics will then air nightly at 8 p.m. ET. Authenticated NBC Sports Chicago subscribers can also stream every Classic match-up online via NBCSportsChicago.com/WatchLive. Game replays will only be made available to viewers within NBC Sports Chicago's designated viewing territory; schedule subject to change).

ESPN will launch a multi-platform Major League Baseball content initiative this week, highlighted by a Home Run Derby Classics marathon on Thursday, March 26 on ESPN2. The eight-hour marathon begins at 6 p.m. ET and will include encore presentations of the 2019, 2018, 2017 and 2015 Home Run Derby events. The encore telecasts will also stream via the ESPN App.

ESPN MLB analyst Tim Kurkjian will debut a new content series on March 26 called Baseball Fix. He will reflect on the best classic baseball story per day tied to that date in history, in vintage Kurkjian form. The content will be available on ESPN.com and on ESPN television platforms.

ESPN Senior MLB Insider and Sunday Night Baseball reporter Buster Olney will continue to host his daily podcast Baseball Tonight with Buster Olney, with new episodes this week.

The National Lacrosse League announced the launch of two new online content offerings designed to engage NLL fans. NLL True Classics will launch Tuesday, March 24 at 12 p.m. ET on NLL's YouTube Channel and will replay complete games from the 2016-17 and 2017-18 seasons, as well as a growing list of games from previous seasons. In addition, In Transition: Live, a new interview series hosted by Devan Kaney, will be an unscripted, insightful, and a unique opportunity for our fans to join the conversation in real-time with a rotating cast of guests.
