RT today announces its exciting upcoming slate of video content, taking viewers from Autumn 2025 to Spring 2026 across RT One, RT 2 and RT Player. From an unprecedented offering of brand-new home-grown dramas, to ground-breaking documentaries chronicling remarkable Irish lives, an abundance of upcoming free-to-air sport for the nation to rally behind, and uniquely Irish kids content, RT 's upcoming schedule of programming is one which reflects a modern-day Ireland, a changing society, and the underlying pride that unites us all through news, sport, art and culture and entertainment.

As Ireland's national public service media, RT continues to expand on its commitment to provide audiences with distinctive Irish content that informs, entertains and celebrates life in Ireland.

With key events including the upcoming Presidential Election, as well as RT celebrating its centenary in 2026, RT will provide unique, up-to-date, informative and distinctive programming across a wide range of genres as b arla agus as gaeilge.

Viewers will be entertained across the schedule, kicking off next weekend with The Traitors Ireland.

An unprecedented slate of Irish drama series, in collaboration with the independent production sector, will include three brand new series: The Walsh Sisters, These Sacred Vows, and Tall Tales & Murder, and returning series The Dry, with performances from rising stars including Ella Lily Highland and India Mullen, as well as Tom Vaughan Lawlor, Aidan Gillen and Ciar n Hinds.

A re-vamped Ireland's Fittest Family will feature three new well-known and competitive sports mentors - Ellen Keane, Michael Darragh Macauley and Andrew Trimble.

RT will provide unrivalled free-to-air sport including the World Athletics Championships, the Women's Rugby World Cup, and the Autumn Nations Series.

As the nation gears up to elect Ireland's 10th President, RT News and Current Affairs will deliver unrivalled, trusted and informed coverage and debates ahead of the upcoming election, across RT platforms, from journalists around the country.

Following on from the groundbreaking investigations into Irish private nursing homes, the Christian Brothers' wealth and assets, and the black-market sales of weight loss drugs, the award-winning RT Investigates team will continue to deliver public service broadcasting at its very best in new and revealing documentaries.

RT will offer a range of in-depth and uniquely Irish factual and documentary series including The Ryanair Story, venturing behind-the-scenes at one of the world's most successful airlines, and new true-crime series Swindlers.

Reflecting modern-Irish society, RT 's slate of new programming will explore healthcare in The Shift: Cork University Hospital, housing challenges in Who's Building Ireland?, Home Rescue: The Big Fix, and Cheap Irish Homes and will look at the experiences of the new Irish in Caesar's Palace.

The Traitors Ireland will officially premiere on RT One and RT Player on Sunday, 31 August. Siobh n McSweeney as host will charge into chaos, suspicion and stylish skulduggery. Each day, the group of 24 hopefuls embark on Missions as they work together to add more money to the potential prize pot of 50,000. Shot on the banks of the Boyne in Slane Castle, this spine-tingling new adaptation of the global phenomenon brings suspicion, strategy and sabotage to Irish soil. The Traitors Ireland will air on RT One and RT Player Sundays, Mondays, and Tuesdays at 9:35pm.

Companion series The Traitors Ireland Uncloaked, presented by Kevin McGahern, will broadcast from Limerick, and is set to be the ultimate post-show destination for fans across Ireland. Filmed in RT Limerick, each episode will feature an exclusive interview with the banished or murdered player as well as bonus unseen footage.

Sunday evening family favourite Ireland's Fittest Family features some brand-new coaches this year, with Ellen Keane, Michael Darragh MacAuley, and Andrew Trimble coaching families who will go up against veteran coaches Davy Fitzgerald, Anna Geary and Donncha O'Callaghan and their super-fit contestants in a newly revamped series, with Laura Fox presenting.

The new season of The Late Late Show kicks off on Friday 12 September hosted by Patrick Kielty. This season also marks ten years of audience favourite The Late Late Country Music Special. The biggest night in Irish television, the phenomenon that is The Late Late Toy Show was beamed into 1.6 million homes in Ireland in 2024 and had a record-breaking 622,000 streams in 139 countries globally. The RT Toy Show Appeal raised 4.9 million in 2024.
