Stargazers and high-wire artistes at photokina 2016 With photokina ZOOM, distant destinations are brought within grasp, at least visually. ZOOM presents the newest technologies and products from the segment of long-distance optics. On the central Piazza of the Cologne fair grounds, a pair of artistes provide spectacular motifs at dizzying heights.

Photographing distant galaxies and foreign planets is one of the most exciting areas of astronomy, but also of photography! What even many pros dont know: the constellations can be photographed with little expense, and amateurs today are able to make images of the planets with affordable equipment that can compare with those of the big observatories.

In order to be able to avoid the typical entrance hurdles, the experts from Baader Planetarium at photokina show what needs to be paid attention to in terms of equipment and what is possible with which budget. At the stand of Baader Planetarium on the Piazza, visitors can acquire an overview of astronomical photography and also have a look at the sun through appropriate, safe filters when clear skies prevail.

Classical long-distance optics also have their place at photokina. Carl Zeiss AG, Kowa Optical Products Co. LTD., Steiner Optik GmbH and Swarovski Optik KG will also present their latest products and technologies from the field of telephoto lenses and binoculars on the Piazza. There is also a possibility to try things out there - the motifs are provided.

Enchanting artists at dizzying heights

Nuptial Ropes - the Bond of Matrimony is the name of the show of the artiste couple Lo se Haenni and Oren Schreiber. The story: a young couple preparing for the most important moment, their wedding. However, the rush and excitement entwine them in absurdly comic situations. Only her mischievousness and his decisiveness lead to a happy ending....or do they? Visitors of photokina find this out at the show, which takes place at a height of eight metres above the Piazza, at 12:00 p.m., 2:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. on all days of the trade fair.

Because these measures include visual inspections and spot checks of baggage, waiting times can get longer in the entrance areas. The control measures are adjustable and can be adapted at short notice after consultations with the security forces.

To prevent unnecessary waiting times, we ask you to leave any baggage that isnt required for your trade fair visit at home.

To ensure the work of the security forces isnt impaired, we ask that you please understand that we cannot provide any detailed information about the specific security measures.
