Partnership Provides Next-Generation Video Workflows to Tier-One Broadcasters and Operators
BFE announced a new strategic partnership between BFE and Brightcove, which couples Brightcove's leadership role in online video solutions for media with BFE's enviable track record of success in delivering next generation broadcast solutions. The new alliance will provide tier-one broadcasters and operators with converged video workflow technology for both traditional and online broadcast formats.
The convergence between Broadcast and Digital workflows first began to present itself at IBC in 2014. More recently the entrance of traditional broadcast services companies into the digital/OTT space is evidence that this trend is set to continue. This convergence was also a factor in Brighcove's decision to add a modular technology strategy whereby the company is able to offer specific capabilities, players, encoding etc. in parallel with end-to-end publishing workflows in the shape of Video Cloud. This dual strategy has resonated in the market and given Brightcove the opportunity to partner in support of converged workflows for the broadcast vertical. A goal for Brightcove became to be more tightly integrated into the origin workflow, where the majority of a Tier 1 broadcasters' technology stack is still driven by the linear workflow, which led to the decision to partner with BFE.
