Tom Tardivo Appointed Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of PBS

ARLINGTON, VA; May 11, 2017 - Paula Kerger, President and CEO of PBS, today announced that Tom Tardivo has been promoted to Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of PBS. Mr. Tardivo will report to COO Jonathan Barzilay and serve as a key member of PBS' senior leadership team. A nearly 20-year veteran of PBS, Mr. Tardivo is an experienced financial leader with extensive knowledge of both PBS and the public media system. He has held the position of interim CFO since January 2017.

As Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer, Mr. Tardivo is responsible for fostering the financial integrity and fiscal health of PBS. This includes leadership of the finance, accounting, treasury, business development and investment teams. He also oversees all business planning activities at PBS, leads financial strategy for corporate transactions, and more. In addition, Mr. Tardivo now serves as Treasurer of the PBS Foundation, President of PBS Enterprises LLC (a for-profit holding company), and liaison to the Audit, Finance and Investment Subcommittees of the PBS Board of Directors.

During his two decades at PBS, Tom has proven to be a natural leader and a valued strategic partner, said Ms. Kerger. I greatly appreciate Tom's financial savvy and his unwavering commitment to the mission of public media, which make him a perfect fit for the critical position of CFO.

Mr. Tardivo first joined PBS in 1998 as Controller of PBS Home Video and subsequently rose to Senior Director of Finance for PBS Ventures, now known as Public Media Distribution LLC. After six years, he briefly left PBS for XM Satellite Radio, where he was responsible for business operations and financial management of the sales and marketing group. He returned to PBS in 2005 as Vice President, Strategic Asset Management with financial oversight of all content-related revenue-generating enterprises, including strategic partnerships, sponsorships, licensing, merchandising, e-commerce, home video, direct-to-consumer marketing and new business development. He was later promoted to Senior Vice President, Finance & Business Development. During his tenure, Mr. Tardivo also oversaw affiliate and management relations for the Sprout joint venture, as well as the negotiation and sale of PBS' equity interest in the venture.

Prior to PBS, Mr. Tardivo held finance positions at Telco Communications Group, CBS News and the National Basketball Association. He began his career with Feld Entertainment. A graduate of Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Mr. Tardivo holds a Bachelor of Science degree with a major concentration in Accounting.
