Schneider Electric, a global specialist in energy management, today announced the launch of its new Efficiency Quotient, a quick and easy online questionnaire that provides customers with an energy management assessment, including cross-user comparisons and recommended steps for reducing energy costs and improving efficiency.
The Efficiency Quotient allows customers to make a basic assessment of what they can do to further enhance the efficiency of their assets. Upon completing the survey, customers receive a score on a rating of 1 to 5 compared to other like-users, including building managers, data centers, industrial plants and energy managers. Based on this score, Schneider Electric provides customers with recommendations and access to related white papers, specific links and tools to help guide the energy efficiency improvement process. In addition, CEOs can determine their Enterprise Efficiency Quotient by encouraging their managers across the entire organization to take the survey
Saving money and being more efficient and sustainable are key objectives of all companies today, said Aaron Davis, Chief Marketing Officer, Schneider Electric. The Efficiency Quotient helps Fortune 1000 companies do this by providing a simple way to get a pulse on where they are today, how they compare to others and easy steps they can take to help lower their energy bills and increase efficiency.
Latest tool to help customers improve their energy management and efficiency
The Efficiency Quotient is the latest tool introduced by Schneider Electric to help educate and drive a new level of energy management and efficiency with customers and the general public. In 2010, the company launched its Collaborative Portal Project, a private, online community that provides easy access to the people, information and technology needed to more efficiently guide energy management projects. Now used by customers and Schneider Electric to manage thousands of projects, the portal includes comprehensive Web meeting capabilities and social networking features that help customers decrease costs, expedite time-to-market and boost productivity on energy management projects. The portal has driven estimated efficiency gains of 10-30 percent on completed projects and has been recognized as an industry-leading collaborative resource.
In addition, in 2009 the company launched Energy University , which provides vendor-neutral efficiency education tools and training via 150 specialized programs that are accessed by more than 130,000 professionals in 12 languages worldwide. Schneider Electric is partnering with over 10 professional associations to provide continuing education credits, and recently announced a new Professional Energy Manager (PEM) certification a highly respected credential for energy management certification in association with the Institute of Energy Professionals.
