Schaeffler honored for its very high precision and quality

Schaeffler has received numerous awards for precision, performance and quality from customers in Asia in the first quarter of 2013. Amongst others, Schaeffler received the Certificate of Achievement in Quality Performance 2012 from Toyota in Japan. This prize is awarded to suppliers who fulfill the very highest standards in terms of quality and delivery. In China, Schaeffler was presented with The Excellent Quality Supplier Award by Nissan. And Volkswagen Automotive Shanghai honored the company in January as Excellent Supplier 2012.

We are well positioned in Asia and last but not least these numerous awards show that our customers are satisfied with our top performance. We can say that we are now reaping the benefits of our commitment in Asia, says Wolfgang Dangel, Mem-ber of the Executive Board Automotive of Schaeffler AG.

Schaeffler recognized at an early stage that future increases in volume would take place outside of Europe. This is why we started our localization activities many years ago. We have been present in South America for 55 years and in North America for more than 40 years. Our brands have been present in Asia for over 50 years. And we have also been in China for over two decades and increased our growth in good time, explains Mr. Dangel.

Our Asian business activities in the Asia Pacific region are managed from our headquarters established in 2007 in Shanghai. The Schaeffler Group has subsidiaries in the People's Republic of China, Korea, Japan, Taiwan, the Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Thailand, Singapore, Indonesia, Australia and India, which all provide full support throughout the region. We currently have 13 production sites that provide direct support for the Automotive and Industrial divisions. In addition, ten regional development centers ensure that support is available to our Asian customers quickly and for their specific application.
