The long-running singing reality competition show Idols SA is coming to an end.

The upcoming 19th season of Idols on Mzansi Magic will be its farewell season , giving hopeful South Africans one last chance to audition for the show.

Idols started 21 years ago in 2002 on the M-Net channel.

The judges in the final edition of the competition are entertainer Somizi Mhlongo, musician and producer JR Bogopa and actress and singer Thembi Seete.

ProVerb will once again host and produce the show.

Auditions for the final season of Idols SA will start on Sunday, 12 February 2023.

In the 18 seasons to date, there have been eight female winners, nine male winners and joint winners in 2009 (Season 5).
