Quantel acquired Snell giving rise to a new giant in the industry The combination of both companies will allow them to have a larger scale and the combination of powerful technologies for production, broadcast and post-production.

Quantel, company specialized in high-level post production environments, has announced on Wednesday the acquisition of Snell, a global reference solutions for the production of live TV and the creation, management and distribution of content for TV everywhere and on any device such as tablets, mobile and web. The acquisition will allow to combine the strength of two giants to launch an ambitious project that will offer customers a complete range of products for creating, versioning and delivering high-quality content efficiently across multiple platforms.

Ray Cross, CEO, Quantel, pointed out that this operation "will bring together two large companies creating a new force of utmost importance in the global broadcast and media market. This will allow us to better serve Quantel and Snell customers around the world. Our product ranges are fully complementary so Snell and Quantels excellent brands and product ranges continue to maintain. We will be able to combine the best in class talent and Quantel and Snell technologies to offer exciting new products and solutions on the market to help our clients transform their business. "On the other hand, have more local offices around the world, will allow us to build closer relationships with our customers and provide better support".

Paul Martin, director general of the division of Snell TV Everywhere and Robert Rowe, director general of the division of Snell Live TV will join the Board of Quantel. Tim Banks, director of sales and Peter Fredericks, Chief Financial Officer at Snell will also play a leading role in the new combined organization.
