Strymon unveil the TimeLine MX

Four new delay algorithms & dual-engine functionality

Strymon have just announced that the much-anticipated MX version of their hugely popular delay pedal is now available. The TimeLine MX offers a signifiant upgrade over the standard version, introducing four new delays engines and a reverb, as well as the ability to run any two engines at once with a choice of series, parallel or split modes.

The new arrival is the most powerful delay pedal from Strymon to date, employing a tri-core 800MHz ARM processor that's capable of recreating an array of analogue circuits in painstaking detail, as well as powering the company's contemporary delay engines. As with the BigSky MX, the TimeLine MX allows two of its engines to be used simultaneously in series, parallel or split modes - users can switch between them with a single button press while editing, and it's possible to dedicate a footswitch to each engine's on/off state.

Alongside the original algorithms, the new version of the pedal introduces four new delays and a built-in reverb. A Spectral engine uses granular processing to deliver intriguing and delightful results , while a new MultiTap option delivers complex rhythms and offers per-tap control over pan, level, feedback, filter type and frequency. Drum then recreates the mechanical inconsistencies of vintage drum-based units, and Oil Can offers darker, less predictable results than traditional delays. The pedal also now includes a versatile reverb engine with a tremolo function inspired by the company's Flint pedal.

Five-Minute Stereo Looper: The TimeLine MX features an integrated stereo looper with selectable Multi or 1 Button modes. The looper can be placed before or after the delay effects, and in 1 Button Mode it can be used on the fly without switching to Looper mode.

Reverb Plus Delay: In addition to 11 delay engines, a stellar new reverb engine is included, allowing the TimeLine MX to be your all-in-one delay plus reverb pedal.

Full MIDI Control & More: Change presets and control parameters with MIDI via USB-C, TRS or DIN connections. Access the looper controls (including reverse, redo and half-speed) without entering Looper mode. Adjust controls via an expression pedal while you play.

Stereo Input/Output & Stereo Send/Return: All jacks are TRS stereo, providing selectable I/O configurations including stereo or mono effects send/return, wet/dry and wet/dry/wet.
