Frequency, the engine behind many of the worlds leading streaming television channels, has become the platform of choice for leading U.S. broadcasters bringing local news to Free Ad-Supported Streaming Television (FAST).
Across major broadcast groups, Frequency powers local FAST news channels reaching nearly 60% of U.S. TV households. The company supports more than 160 local news channels across major DMAs and delivers a unified local news streaming footprint of more than 70 million U.S. TV households.
Frequency operates one of the industrys largest live local news streaming infrastructures, supporting tens of thousands of live broadcasts each year. The company will power over 100,000 live events in 2026 from daily newscasts to real-time breaking news.
Live content is becoming a cornerstone of FAST, as broadcasters expand their reach to streaming audiences while complementing their traditional broadcast operations, said Jon Cohen, Chief Revenue Officer. Frequency delivers the broadcast-grade platform required to operate live local news at scale supporting real-time coverage, expanded distribution, and incremental revenue across ad-supported platforms.
Frequency supports both the origination of dedicated streaming channels and the real-time manipulation, reprogramming and distribution of existing broadcast feeds, giving local broadcasters flexible pathways to streaming growth. Its cloud-native platform enables station groups to scale live operations efficiently while maintaining the reliability and control required for local news.
