Lightware Visual Engineering releases further switchers under the Taurus UCX product set

Lightware Visual Engineering UK & Ireland, the leading manufacturer of DVI, HDMI, DisplayPort and USB-C matrix switchers, extenders, distribution amplifiers and AV-over-IP systems, is pleased to announce its latest new product line under the Taurus UCX range of switchers.

Available in two different models, these versatile units greatly enhance the flexibility of any meeting room by allowing participants to easily bring their own device (hence BYOD) to the meeting and make full use of it to run any soft conferencing platform and utilise any meeting room USB peripherals such as a webcam, microphone, soundbar, and touchscreen.

Following on from the success of the UCX-4x2-HC30 and UCX-4x2-HC30D switchers, we are excited to release the UCX-2x1-HC30 providing 1x HDMI and 1x USB-C connections and the UCX-2x2-H30 which provides 2x HDMI connections. Both solutions provide a genuine BYOD setup for smaller meeting spaces where less connectivity is needed over our successful UCX-4x2-HC30 product, resulting in less downtime as staff begin to return to offices post lockdown, as well as giving them the added confidence and biosecurity of being able to use their own equipment.

Unique features include convenient USB-C connectivity over a single cable for 4K video, audio, data, peripherals, and power for charging connected devices up to 60w. A separate USB 3.1 host switching layer provides connection for multiple devices, while a smart cooling system provides noiseless operation. A custom splash screen allows for the display of a customer logo and room information.

Whilst there are many native Microsoft, Zoom and Cisco video conferencing solutions, none are as easy to use and as flexible as a BYOD setup, especially as we have all spent the past year working from our laptops running these soft conferencing platforms from our own devices comments Craig Storey, Sales Director, UK & Ireland. The Taurus UCX allows end-users to walk into the meeting room in the same way they would their home office, plug in their laptop, and run the soft conferencing platform of their choice to start a video meeting.
