The closing ceremony (Award Ceremony) of the 6th China Vocal Music Competition was held in Ningbo Cultural Square Theatre on October 31st and the performance delivered by the winners is highly appreciated by the audience. The prize winners are awarded by several municipal leaders including Yu Hongyi (Deputy Secretary of Municipal Party Committee), Hong Jiaxiang (Member of Municipal Party Committee and Minister of Publicity Department), Zhang Minghua (Deputy Mayor) and Jiang Jianwei (Cice-chairman of Municipal Political Consultative Conference). Zhang Minghua delivers the closing speech to the ceremony.
On the ceremony, Yu Feng, president of the judging panel of this international vocal music competition and dean of China National Opera House announces the list of winners. There are 4 winners for each male and female voice parts in this competition. The champions are Adrian Dumitru from Romania and Zhou Xin from China. Besides, winners of male voice part are Xiao Ma (China), Zheng Diyun (Korea), Yang Yang (China) respectively; winners of female voice part are Emmanuella Passcoo (Romania), Maria Liedtke (Russia) and Meini Galloy (Armenia).
This vocal music competition also gives the Award for Excellent Performance of Chinese Art Songs . Li Yang (China) and Shi Rongmin (Korea) become the winners while Sun Mingli from Ningbo university is awarded the Award for Outstanding Young Piano Accompanist .
Founded in 2000 and held every 3 years, the International Vocal Music Competition is one of the series of international musical competitions sponsored by the Ministry of Culture in China. China International Vocal Music Competition along with China International Violin Competition and China International Piano Competition are regarded as the "3 major musical competitions" in China. Additionally, it has joined the world league of international musical. Since the 3rd China International Vocal Music Competition in 2005, this event settles in Ningbo for good and has been successfully held for 4 periods.
The competition attracts 431 competitors from home and abroad since its registration begins. After the strict and impartial examination towards application materials and songs by expert review group, the competition screens out 85 excellent competitors who come from 40 countries and regions including China, America, Britain, Italy, Korea and China Taiwan, HongKong SAR and Macao SAR. The numbers of competitors as well as participant countries and regions greatly exceed those of previous event.
In order to return for the great kindness of citizens in Ningbo, 9 winners deliver a cheerful and graceful concert to the audience after the award ceremony.
