Greening of Streaming - (www.greeningofstreaming.org) - a not-for-profit member organisation focusing the streaming industry on developing joined-up engineering strategies to reduce energy waste in the delivery infrastructure - today marks a significant milestone as it welcomes Arqiva, a key player in the broadcast and utilities sector, as a new member.

Arqiva is at the heart of broadcast and utilities in the UK and globally, providing critical data, network and communications services. Partnering with customers, Arqiva builds and operates the complex ecosystems and infrastructures through which data and content can move effectively, securely and sustainably at scale - whether through broadcasting and transmission services or intelligent networks for energy and water.

Sustainability is a crucial priority for the business, and Arqiva has set its strategy to become a Net Zero Organisation by 2040, with an interim target of reaching net zero across our scope 1 and 2 emissions by 2031. In its Scope 3 plans, Arqiva collaborates with suppliers to make its products even more carbon-efficient.

Arqiva has two further sustainability goals: to positively enhance the environments it operates in and to optimise the use of natural resources.

Arqiva develops next-generation cloud-based, IP-enabled services to aggregate media content from different sources for distribution to different platforms. Using content delivery networks that can work alongside traditional broadcast platforms, Arqiva enables customer carbon reduction through improved scalability, enriched service aggregation, lower energy consumption, and reduced fixed asset base maintenance.

Arqiva is a trusted partner in the media industry, and were actively developing and delivering power efficiency improvements across our broadcast platforms. As we help our customers transition to IP and cloud, the efficiency and sustainability of these new platforms are paramount not only to ourselves but also to content distributors, consumers and the wider industry.
