For the 2014 edition of the Loeries, an event which celebrates outstanding work in creative brand communication in Africa, Google will be participating to bring several firsts to delegates. Loeries creative week takes place from 15 to 21 September at a number of venues in Cape Town, South Africa.

At Google we are driven by innovation and creativity and the Loeries is one of our favourite events of the year, precisely because of the amazing mix of innovation and creativity on display, explains Elizma Nolte, Country Marketing Manager, Google South Africa. Digital is of course the new creative canvas and we are increasingly seeing code take its rightful place alongside art and copy when it comes to implementing the iconic campaigns that will define this age. Were very excited about the work well be celebrating this year!

As part of their contribution to the event Google has launched the Loeries to Loeries YouTube Ads Leaderboard, which is a celebration of the most popular ads on YouTube in the period since the last Loeries took place. The ranking is determined not only by the number of video views, but also the percentage of organic views versus paid views.

In addition, Google will sponsor the Digital and Interactive Communication award category which is chaired by Emmy Award winner, PJ Pereira, the Chief Creative Officer of Pereira and O Dell in San Francisco. During Creative Week the Google Pop-up Restaurant will function as an exclusive event catering to the judging chairs and creative leaders attending the Loeries.
