Paul O Grady: For the Love of Dogs at Christmas (video)

It's the festive season and Paul O'Grady is at Battersea Dogs & Cats Home to make sure all the animals have a great Christmas.
Paul OGrady meets Buddy and Bobby, a Bichon cross Shih-Tzu and Bichon Frise, who came to Battersea as a pair after their owner fell ill and couldn't look after them anymore.
The pair are upset to be away from their owner but Paul steps in to look after them and welcome them to Battersea.

Also in this one hour special, Paul helps out walking the dogs, feeding them, playing with them and makes some new friends along the way.
Dog lover and Battersea Ambassador, Paul, also finds out how each of the dogs ended up there with his ultimate goal being to find them a loving home in time for Christmas.
This year Battersea has been overwhelmed by puppies and Paul meets twelve special German Shepherd cross pups who are only two weeks old. The first few weeks of life for the puppies are the most critical so Paul anxiously waits to see if all the litter, known as the twelve puppies of Christmas, pull through.
Paul also meets Phyllis, a grumpy Yorkshire Terrier cross with no teeth. Poor Phyllis has had a catalogue of medical issues and although she doesn't like being handled, Paul still falls for her. There's also the sad story of Faith, a Great Dane cross who was so underweight when she arrived at Battersea she couldn't walk. Thankfully the staff at the home found her in the nick of time and she is now on her way back to full health.
There is also Sharpei Tulula who has sight and hearing problems. Tulula ended up in Battersea as her owners couldn't afford to pay for an operation to help improve her sight.
Finally, Paul gets to know three-legged Staffordshire Bull terrier Buddy whose health hangs in the balance after Battersea's clinic team find a lump on his chest.
