SABC audition for new presenters

Top Billing and SABC3's reality show, Presenter Search on 3, looking for three new TV presenters will now be dedicated to the late Simba Mhere. Channel24 reported last week that the producers were looking for a way to honour the memory of Mhere through the new reality search competition and will be readjusting the Presenter Search on 3 to be a tribute to Simba.

The organisers have now confirmed that this year's Presenter Search on 3 will be held in memory and in tribute to one of South Africa's favourite Top Billing presenters Simba Mhere.

We will dedicate the new series to Simba

The tragic death of Simba Mhere is a devastating blow to Top Billing - and to the Presenter Search on 3, says Patience Stevens, executive producer of the show. Simba was looking forward to co-presenting the new series with his close friend and colleague Jonathan Boynton-Lee.

Their energy on screen together and their personal experience of both being Presenter Search winners was something that we all hoped would bring a special magic to the show. We will dedicate the new series to Simba - and to his memory - and hope to carry out the search with the same positive energy and zest for life that reflects the spirit Simba brought to every project he tackled.

Judges confirmed

Last month Channel24 first reported that Bonang Matheba, Jeannie D and Phat Joe will be the judges of the new Presenter Search on 3. This news is now confirmed.

Under the discerning eyes of Presenter Search on 3 judges Bonang Matheba, Phat Joe and the vivacious Jeannie D, contestants will face physical challenges, tests of improvisation and intelligence, all the while holding their cool with the confidence and charisma befitting a savvy presenter, says the show.

Anyone from 18 and above can enter. Viewers and contestants alike will experience both the highs and lows of reality television. The Presenter Search on 3 starts on Friday, 6 March on SABC3 at 19:30.
