World Health Day is annually celebrated on April 7 to mark the anniversary of the WHO foundation in 1948. The theme for World Health Day is selected every year, which reflects any priority area of public health.

On this day people from all communities have the opportunity to participate in activities that can contribute to health improvement.

The World Health Organization - a special agency of the United Nations, consisting of 194 Member States, the main function of which is solving international problems of health of the Earth population. It was founded in 1948 with headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland.

UNESCO (United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization), the International Labour Organization (ILO), UNICEF (Children's Fund), Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO), and other organizations are included in the specialized UN Group.

This year the United Nations celebrates the 70th anniversary of its activities. World Health Day - 2015 is one more reason to pay attention to the activities of the WHO as a specialized agency of the United Nations concerning the development and implementation of global strategies for the preservation and promotion of public health.
