La perspective d'un tel rapprochement permettrait au nouvel ensemble de se positionner comme le leader incontest dans l'industrie vid o. En effet, les deux entreprises dominent le march de la compression vid o sur lequel elles voluent depuis des ann es. Elles peuvent galement toutes deux se pr valoir d'un m me positionnement haut de gamme, incarn par des solutions qui ont marqu et r volutionn leur march , comme le codeur ViBE de Thomson, ainsi que par le d veloppement et le d ploiement de nouvelles innovations et r f rences dans les technologies vid o IP, OTT, HEVC, broadcast TV et UHD/HDR.

Le rapprochement avec Harmonic lui offrirait l'opportunit de servir plus de 5 000 clients dans le monde entier. Thomson Video Networks, qui tait d j solidement implant sur les march s EMEA, Asie-Pacifique et Am rique Latine, verrait galement sa pr sence se renforcer sur le march nord-am ricain sur lequel Harmonic r alise aujourd'hui la moiti de son chiffre d'affaires.
Le site de Rennes, situ au c ur d'un cosyst me particuli rement dynamique dans le secteur des hautes technologies, deviendrait un centre R&D strat gique. Irrigu par les autres centres R&D d'Harmonic dans le monde, son leadership en serait renforc et consolid , pour le plus grand b n fice du p le technologique auquel il appartient.
Dans ce nouveau contexte, la collaboration des 600 ing nieurs R&D au sein des deux entreprises permettrait une capacit d'innovation sans pr c dent, capable d'acc l rer significativement le d veloppement de technologies de nouvelle g n ration, dans les domaines de la virtualisation, du cloud et du SaaS.
Tout le management est pr t se mobiliser pour r ussir l'int gration de Thomson Video Networks au sein du groupe Harmonic, afin de faire du nouvel ensemble le leader incontest de l'industrie vid o. C'est un avenir plein d'ambition qui s'offrirait ainsi aux quipes de Thomson Video Networks et ce rapprochement repr senterait pour nos clients la perspective d'une gamme de solutions enrichie , a pr cis Christophe Delahousse.
