Orlando Magic to Host First Responder Night Presented by Harris Corporation The night to include a special pregame reception for 40 youths from Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch ORLANDO, Fla., April 1, 2016 The Orlando Magic will honor emergency medical personnel, firefighters, police officers, sheriffs deputies and corrections officers with a First Responder Night Sunday, April 3 when the Magic take on the Memphis Grizzlies. The night will feature a special pregame reception for 40 youths from Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch and C.O.P.S. (Concerns of Police Survivors) with Magic CEO Alex Martins, Magic Community Ambassadors Nick Anderson and Bo Outlaw, Orange County Sheriff Jerry Demmings and Harris Chairman, President and CEO Bill Brown. Harris has also provided the youths suite tickets to the game. In addition, the night will feature the Guns n Hoses first responder basketball tournament, halftime presentations and the Harris Hometown Heroes recognition. During the Guns n Hoses basketball tournament, Central Florida police officers, sheriffs deputies, corrections officers and firefighters will compete on the Amway Center court prior to the Magic game. Harris will donate $5,000 to the first place team and $2,500 to the second place team to contribute to the first responder charity of their choice. Florida first responders will also be recognized and celebrated throughout the game. The Harris Hometown Hero program recognizes a Central Florida first responder prior to each home Magic game (emergency medical, fire, police and military).
