Normal 0 false false false EN-US X-NONE X-NONE MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 -- Complementary Nevion and T-VIPS monitoring solutions streamlined for complete signal monitoring from camera to the home
Nevion, a leading provider of managed media transport and next-generation digital terrestrial broadcasting solutions, today unveils a complete end-to-end in-service monitoring offering with its nSure portfolio of products. Following the completion of the merger between Nevion and T-VIPS in January, both the FCS and the TNS product ranges are now fully integrated into Nevion's nSure family. In combination with VideoIPath, Nevion's comprehensive media service management platform, the nSure products offer intuitive and powerful network monitoring and a high level of data aggregation.
With the nSure portfolio, signals can now be monitored from the output of the camera all the way to the home. Network operators are able to monitor at head-ends, re-multiplexing sites and transmission sites, while broadcasters can monitor the signals before and after compression ensuring the quality of their streams. The nSure products are designed to give customers the clearest view of their network performance. This is quantified through measurements and qualified by analysing the parameter statistics and the events logs from the monitoring equipment, meaning that SLA targets are met and the quality of experience for their viewers is ensured. The portfolio also supports a variety of interfaces ranging from traditional telco interfaces to RF signals.
The nSure product line increases network reliability by adding intelligence to monitoring and switching. The products are relied on by an impressive list of customers including European Broadcasting Union, Teracom, RAI and Arqiva. These solutions draw on the experience and expertise of both Nevion and T-VIPS to simplify the day-to-day operations of media transport networks, and provide signal redundancy, error detection and fast diagnostics of erroneous signals. The expanded end-to-end product line-up from Nevion delivers solutions for signals and streams monitoring (including a very powerful engine for PSI/SI/PSIP tables monitoring) and redundancy changeover solutions (including seamless switching).
The latest addition to the nSure portfolio is the TNS460 HD/SD-SDI monitor. New to the North American market, it answers the need of broadcasters and network operators by ensuring the delivery of high quality video signals throughout the value chain. It provides central head-end input monitoring and is ideal for SDI signals monitoring at handover points where signals may be delivered from one party to another.
In addition to the redundancy solutions, the nSure portfolio includes the following monitoring products:
FCS1000-PLUS In-Service Monitor a compact, high-density video in-service monitoring solution, ideal for central, non-intrusive monitoring of a large number of DVB-ASI, HD/SD-SDI and video-over-IP traffic
TNS546 TS Monitor a powerful toolbox for continuous monitoring of transport streams, services, PIDs and PSI/SI/PSIP tables to enable fast fault detection and diagnostics in an easy-to-use and intuitive user interface
TNS547 DTT Monitor provides efficient monitoring of all major interfaces, formats and layers found in DVB terrestrial networks, including the transmitter input signals and off-air RF signals, simplifying operations and increasing network reliability
Monitoring is imperative to ensuring efficient operations, especially when SLAs are involved, as it enables the user to accurately assess the performance of the network, said Janne T. Morstl, chief product and marketing officer at Nevion. The merger between Nevion and T-VIPS has meant that we've been able to expand the reach of our monitoring solutions, so we can now offer end-to-end in-service monitoring to a wider customer base to increase the reliability of their media transport networks.
Nevion's newly expanded nSure portfolio of monitoring and switching solutions will be on show at its booth (#SU3117) at the 2013 NAB Show in Las Vegas, from April 8-11.
