Rohde & Schwarz, a leading provider of mobile network testing solutions, is pleased to announce the results of the Telia Norway Benchmark, a comprehensive mobile network benchmarking campaign conducted in October 2024.

Telia Norway has commissioned Rohde & Schwarz to conduct a nationwide mobile network quality benchmarking campaign, leveraging the company's expertise and experience in the area of mobile network testing.

The campaign assessed the performance of three leading operators in Norway, with Telia Telia Norway emerging as the top performer.

The campaign was highly comprehensive, spanning over 5,550 kilometers and covering more than 50% of Norways population. Throughout the campaign, over 11,900 voice calls were tested, in addition to more than 124,700 data tests were conducted to evaluate the performance of Norways mobile network operators. The assessment was based on a fully transparent, harmonized, and end-user-centric Network Performance Scoring (NPS) approach, evaluating popular mobile services such as web browsing, social media, voice telephony, data transfer, and video services.

Key urban areas included: Oslo (with surrounding municipalities Asker, Baerum, Lier, Lillestrom, Lommedalen, and Lorenskog), Bergen, Stavanger, Trondheim, Fredrikstad+Sarpsborg, Drammen, Skien, Kristiansand, lesund, and T nsberg, as well as numerous towns such as lg rd, Arendal, Askim, Egersund, Elverum, F rde, Halden, Hamar, Haugesund, Jessheim, Kongsberg, Larvik, Leirvik, Molde, Moss, Os yro, Sandefjord, and Ski.

Norway is among the countries advancing 5G deployments, despite challenging geography and environmental conditions. All three Norwegian mobile networks - Ice, Telenor, and Telia - achieved impressive scores, with each exceeding 700 points out of a possible 1000. Telia emerged as the top performer, securing a Network Performance Score of 829 points, a distinction that ranks them among the worlds leading mobile networks.
