Thales UK has been awarded a five-year contract to provide secure network connectivity services to The Insolvency Service, part of the UK's Department for Business Innovation & Skills (BIS). This is the first contract awarded under the Government's Public Services Network (PSN) Connectivity framework that will provide network security at Business Impact Level 3 (IL3).
Thales has invested heavily in developing our PSN offers
Thales will deliver secure Wide Area Network (WAN) services across The Insolvency Service sites, including head office, regional offices and associated data centres. In addition Thales will be responsible for the migration of the existing network onto the new secure communications network and associated support services.
The contract award demonstrates Thales's expertise in providing secure network and communication services, and positions Thales as a key supplier to UK central government and its vision of offering secure network services through the PSN initiative. With a track record of delivering secure networks across the defence, enterprise and transport industry sectors for more than 30 years, this success illustrates Thales's capabilities in providing holistic physical, network and cyber-security solutions.

PSN has been designed to provide a foundation for Government information and communications technology (ICT), and is being implemented across the UK public sector. By creating one logical network, based on industry standards, and a more open and competitive ICT marketplace, PSN enables government to share services safely and to collaborate in new ways more effectively and efficiently than ever before.

About The Insolvency Service
The Insolvency Service exists to provide the framework and the means for dealing with financial failure in the economy and with the misconduct that is often associated with it. To achieve this we will maintain and develop a world-class insolvency law and regulatory framework; deliver key public services to support that framework; deliver and promote an effective investigation and enforcement regime; and ensure an organisation devoted to continuous improvement.
The Insolvency Service operates under a statutory framework mainly the Insolvency Acts 1986 and 2000, the Company Directors Disqualifications Act 1986 and the Employment Rights Act 1996 and the Companies Acts 1985 and 2006, as well as from a range of secondary legislation relating to these acts. The Service has around 2,100 staff, operating from 35 locations across Great Britain.
