DJ and producer Master KG has set the record straight amid reports his record label Open Mic Productions is being sued by songstress Nomcebo Zikode.

In a tweet on Wednesday 14 December, the Sofa Silahlane hitmaker corrected entertainment commentator Phil Mphela after he reported that Open Mic was his record label - meaning he is signed to it.

MASTER KG: THIS IS OUTSIDE MY TERRITORY' On Tuesday, Phil broke the news that Nomcebo - who has hit song Jesrusalema with Master KG - was suing Open Mic. The stable is home to singer and Master KG's girlfriend Makhadzi, as well as Nomcebo, Zanda Zakuza and Master KG.

Nomcebo is suing Master KG's label. Nomcebo is suing OpenMic Productions record label over its decision to pull the Grammy nominated Bayethe song, from streaming sites. Bayethe also features Zakes Bantwini and Woulter Kellerman, Phil wrote.

Although Phil was not necessarily saying that Open Mic is owned by the DJ -as it is common knowledge that the company is owned by Filipino-American producer and songwriter Michael Alan Meyers - Master KG still made it clear that he wants no part in the court scandal.

Upon seeing the tweet, he wrote: Well my label is Called Wanitwa Mos Entertainment And it recently Dropped New fire EP Called Wanitwa Mos Exclusives please write about that..this one here is outside my Territory, he wrote in his tweet.

Master KG is still with Open Mic, but also owns Wanitwa Mos Entertainment.

NOMCEBO'S BATTLE WITH OPEN MIC According to ZAlebs, music streaming platform Spotify removed Bayethe immediately after it was announced that it had been nominated for Best Global Music Performance at the Grammy's.

The publication reported that Open Mic (through its lawyers) told Spotify that the song infringes on its intellectual property.

However, in the court documents, Nomcebo claims Open Mic does not own any copyright or other intellectual property rights to the song.

The statement is false, and the respondent knows it to be so. It holds no copyright or other intellectual property rights, in the song or the recording entitled to attempt to prevent me from making recordings and performing, read part of the court papers.

As a result, Nomcebo asked the court that Open Mic be ordered to advise Spotify to reinstate the song within 24 hours of the interim relief being granted.

The song was still not available on Spotify when this article was published.
