Viewers have slammed Netflix film Luckiest Girl Alive and begged the streaming platform to add a trigger warning because of the graphic rape scene and the depiction of gruesome school shooting.

LUCKIEST GIRL ALIVE' TRENDS IN SOUTH AFRICA Netflix's Luckiest Girl Alive topped the Twitter trends list last night, Wednesday 12 October. The film stars Mila Kunis as TifAni Ani FaNelli - a woman who is forced to confront a devastating secret from her past when she is interviewed for a true crime documentary. Ani begins to confront some dark truths from her past that she can no longer keep buried.

The film is based on Jessica Knoll s bestselling novel of the same title and is directed by Mike Barker. The film has been marked as trending and under the top 10 in South Africa.

Determined once and for all to silence the whispers of suspicion and blame, Ani must weigh her options carefully, when telling the whole truth could destroy the picture-perfect life she's worked so hard to create, reads the synopsis of the series.

One of the scenes showed Ani being held down and forced to have sex with a man at a party. Another scenes shwowed one of her classmates walking into her school with a gun and killing multiple students.

I watched the Luckiest Girl Alive with my husband the other day and I thought it was a thriller but instead it tackled sa and the ptsd and flashbacks came back to me and idk man , made me sad again, wrote @nayetkha.

Btw if you re a SA survivor I wouldn t recommend watching The Luckiest Girl Alive on Netflix. Or at least watch it with someone you trust. Its extremely triggering.
