SVG will hold its second-annual Silicon Valley Video Summit (SVVS) on Jan. 23, 2024, at the Computer History Museum in Mountain View, CA. Dedicated to the working needs of Big Tech and Bay Area broadcasters and video professionals, the event is again title-sponsored by Advanced Systems Group (ASG) and B&H Photo.

The inaugural Summit drew 427 professionals from throughout the local live- and studio-TV-production community and was highlighted by a SMPTE Keynote by Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak.

I'm personally very excited about the next Summit, says ASG President Dave Van Hoy. It has been a career-long goal to create a forum for the Northern California video- and media-production community to come together to share knowledge and experiences. Last year's Summit proved that this is valuable for all of the attendees, presenters, and sponsors.

B&H Photo and its professional division The Studio will be hosting an expanded Technology Pavilion this year, presenting innovative solutions to the Silicon Valley content-creation community for the first time. Next year's edition of SVVS will bring even greater content and a vastly expanded and diverse technology showcase.

Peter Thordarson, former chief engineer, production, Microsoft Production Studios, has again been named Conference Chair. He says, Our desire to provide alignment with broadcast best practices is more evident than ever. With evolving methods and technologies of creation, distribution, and consumption of content, it's more critical than ever before that the corporate broadcast community has a venue and a voice. That's why this annual Summit is so important.

The 2024 SVVS program will focus on how corporate video teams are working leaner and, as a result, are relying more on innovative, real-time problem-solving tools, automation, and -coming fast - AI. Hybrid cloud solutions will be a topic of special note, along with IP for the corporate-video market.

Two active conference stages will offer double the number of sessions compared with last year's event, complemented by programmed roundtable conversations and breakouts. The agenda will feature an expanded emphasis on live-event and meeting technologies. Real-world applications of AI will be a consistent focus. An audio track is also being planned.

This year's program is again supported by the SMPTE San Francisco Chapter, which will be joined by the AES San Francisco Chapter, the Virtual Event Group (VEG), and Alex Lindsay's Office Hours.
